Cornwall Hospice Care

Cornwall Hospice Care is a 24/7 healthcare charity that provides compassionate, specialised end of life care for patients, their families and carers. Together with our local community, we aim to ensure every day matters to those whose lives we touch.

St Ives CLT

St Ives Community Land Trust exists to benefit members of the parish of St Ives which comprises the communities of St Ives, Carbis Bay, Lelant and Halsetown. The aims are:

  1. to protect existing community buildings for community use and increase such provision
  2. to promote local economic resilience through developing sites for small and medium sized business and industry
  3. to expand long term affordable housing supply
  4. the provision of such other community resources and activities in the area of benefit for the benefit of the community
  5. the provision, supply and maintenance of renewable forms of energy.

Cornwall Air Ambulance

We provide critical care to seriously sick and injured people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Responding to over 1,000 missions annually, our crew is here at a critical time when every second matters. Operating with no direct government support towards running costs, we rely on the generosity of people like you to keep us flying 365 days a year.

School of Painting

At St Ives School of Painting, we provide quality art course tuition suitable for all levels from complete beginners to those with more experience. Learn from our team of 30 contemporary artists teaching small groups, in our studio overlooking Porthmeor beach in St Ives, where we have been since 1938.

Wave Project

The Wave Project is a children’s mental health charity, improving wellbeing through our award-winning Surf Therapy programme. Surf Therapy is an evidence-based programme that enables children and young people to build confidence and overcome anxiety barriers through surfing. According to the NHS, one in six young people are experiencing a diagnosable mental health issue. We’re on a mission to change that. Our approach is to intervene early, treat young people with respect and focus on a learning activity that they can relate to – surfing.

Co-op

Powered by membership

Concern for community has always been one of the core Co-operative principles. Our work in communities is powered by member-owners and this is what sets us apart – it’s our Co-op difference. Our approach is shaped by our Co-op Vision and is brought to life by our colleagues, member-owners and communities who work together to build better futures.

Friends of the Edward Hain

In 60 years of supporting the hospital, previous Friends groups funded many improvements for patients and staff, including a new X-ray machine and a Day Room.

Now, we organise a wide variety of events to raise funds and help the Centre with running costs and other specific needs.

We also organise a weekly community ‘Knit & Natter‘ group at the Centre. The photo shows a group of us presenting blankets made by the group for St. Julia’s Hospice in Hayle.

NCI St Ives

National Coastwatch is a charity staffed and managed by volunteers who exist to assist in saving life at sea and along the coastline of Engand and Wales.

NCI watchkeepers provide eyes and ears along the coast, looking out for potential incidents and providing a listening watch in poor visibility using VHF radios.

Pandemonium

Pandemonium Projects, based in St Ives, addresses the impact of tourist based economies in coastal towns.

A revolutionary brand that uses food waste to create natural dyes, will be the only clothing brand, globally, to do this on a commercial scale. Pandemonium Projects will also be the only clothing brand that has manufacturing in St Ives.

St Ives Gig Club

St Ives Pilot Gig Club was founded in 1990 and in 2025 is celebrating its 35th year. We row and race traditional wooden Cornish Pilot Gigs which were previously used as boats for pilotage, harbour work and lifeboats. St Ives is one of 90 clubs and is the home club of 35 active local St Ives resident members, although the gig racing community overall has over 8000 active gig rowers in total. It is a sport that welcomes all abilities to row both socially and competitively and keeps old traditions alive.
