Qube Records is the in-house record label of Mounts Bay Academy and Secondary School in Penzance, Cornwall. Established by Darren Roberts in 2014 as an incentive to get students writing original music.
Since then the project has grown and grown, releasing more than 40 albums worth of music written, performed, recorded and produced by students from all 5 year groups at MBA. In 2024 they celebrated their tenth anniversary, passed 1 million worldwide downloads, toured the South of France, performed at the Royal Albert Hall and have just released a 5 volume best of series on vinyl!
The Qube Records collective is the live incarnation, with all the various instrumentalists, singers and songwriters collaborating to bring each other’s material to the stage. With young musicians from Penzance and St Ives in this year’s live iteration they’re bringing a mix of genres and styles to their first appearance at St Ives Food Fest, and they are buzzing to get on stage!
