Ryan Venning, Head Chef at The Rockpool Beach Café has around two decades’ cheffing experience and is originally from South Africa. After training at The International Hotel School, Ryan headed straight to Cornwall, the UK’s “foodie capital”. Ryan covered the popular beaches in and around St Ives, with the Porthminster Beach Café being his destination for ten years as well as his own independent catering business. His recipes have featured in many well-known cook books including Great British Chefs and The Great Cornish Fish Book. Ryan has enjoyed training new chefs at Cornwall Catering College and has supported the setup of other well-known Cornish restaurants. His cuisine at The Rockpool provides exceptional quality and flavour yet unfussy, modern and relaxed. His food celebrates both global influence and local, seasonal produce at its best.
