Kim Somauroo is a food festival home economist and a private chef. Kim has been running the chef demo stages at some of the UK’s leading food festivals, like ‘Taste of London’ & ‘Big Feastival’, for over 10 years.
In 2016 food photographer/stylist Laura Field, asked Kim if he’d like to help book chefs for St Ives, as they had met whilst training at chefs’ school in 2007, and had worked together on many projects and at food festivals, and they knew many chefs personally.
In 2020 during the first lockdown, Kim knew that he had to lose a lot of weight, in case he got sick. So he started learning everything about nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle, and lost 20kg in weight, and he is now training to be a Nutrition Health Coach, so that he can help others do the same.
Kim still wants to continue with the food festivals, and has put the line-up together with Mick Smith. Kim will be sharing the compèring duties with Mick, Kathy Slack and Rupert Cooper, and Laura will be doing some of the festival’s photography.
